JAY-Z has a partnership with California cannabis company Caliva. The 50-year-old, born Shawn Carter and married to pop-star Beyonce, is the latest celebrity to get into the cannabis business which has spread fast in the United States as more and more states legalize it for recreational purposes.

JAY-Z says he also wants to increase the economic participation of people returning from incarceration through job training and workforce development. Through research, I’ve learned; His role will consist of driving creative direction, outreach efforts and strategy for the brand.

The rapper, whose formal title with Caliva will be chief brand strategist, will also further his social justice efforts by increasing job training for former prisoners as well as fostering quality and fairness in the development of the legal marijuana industry.

US regulators revoked the emergency authorization for malaria drugs championed by Donald Trump for treating Covid-19, amid growing evidence they don’t work and could cause serious side effects.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said on Monday the drugs hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine were unlikely to be effective in treating the coronavirus. Citing reports of heart complications, the agency said the drugs’ unproven benefits “do not outweigh the known and potential risks”.

Trump criticized the FDA decision. “I took it and I felt good about taking it. I don’t know if it had an impact, but it certainly didn’t hurt me,” Trump said on Monday.

The Breakfast Club radio host Charlamagne tha God on Sunday warned that Democrats could face a “voter depression” on Election Day because people still aren’t enthused by presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden.

Biden came under heavy fire on Friday after he defended his record during a conference call interview with Charlamagne, at one point telling the black radio host that if he has a problem “figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.” The former vice president later apologized for the remark, saying that “no one should have to vote for any party based on their race or religion or background.”

Joe Biden is taking on President Trump over the economy.

The former vice president’s campaign believes he has an opening with voters on an issue that has been a strength of Trump’s given the economic harm caused by the coronavirus pandemic, which has locked down businesses and led to skyrocketing unemployment.

They plan to argue that Trump handled the pandemic poorly, is mishandling the economy, and that their candidate is the better leader to shepherd the country to recovery.
